Mythological history: 

Guru Gorakhnath or Gorakshanath is considered to be the first Guru of the first century. Guru Gorakhnath or Gorakshanath It is believed that Guru Gorakhnath had toured the whole of India and had also composed many texts. He is considered the first Guru of the 10th century to commemorate this, a temple of Shri Gorakhnath Ji has been built. Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh is named after Shri Gorakhnath ji. The name of Gorakhnath ji's disciple was Bhaironath. And it is said that Bhairon Nath was saved by Mother Vaishno Devi.

The temple complex of Guru Gorakhnath ji is spread over 52 acres. Inside the temple, apart from the marble statue of Gorakshanath, Charan Paduka, there is a temple of Lord Ganesha, temples of Maa Kali, Kaal Bhairav, and Shitala Mata. Gorakhnath was whose incarnation: Guru Gorakhnath was a Yoga Siddha Yogi, the "Hatha Yoga" tradition was started by him. Guru Gorakhnath Ji is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is known as the Mahayogi of ancient India.  Gorakhnath is also said to be the mental son of Guru Matsyendranath. He is considered one of the most influential founders of the Nath Hindu monastic movement in India.

What is the secret of the Gorakhnath temple: It is believed that the unbroken flame lit by Gorakhnath ji in the temple has been burning unbroken since Tretayug till today despite many storms. This light is a symbol of spiritual knowledge, integrity, and unity.

Two facts were given a main place in the Nath sect Of which "Jogi" and "Yogi" are the main ones and these are two sides of the same coin. A yogi which means ascetic life. The person who lives an ascetic life will be called a "Jogi".And second is "Yogi" which means living a household life while doing spiritual practice. The person who lives a household life while doing spiritual practice according to the Nath sect will be called a "Yogi".

Devotees should worship Gorakhnath ji every day by going to the temple or by installing the idol of Gorakhnath ji at home chant 1 rosary every day with the mantra "Om Gorakhnath Namo Namah" for 90 days And chant the mantra of Gorakhnath ji 21 times.Also, read the famous Shabar Mantra of Guru Gorakhnath Ji "Om Shiva Guru Gorakhnath Namah" By doing this you will receive the blessings of Guru Gorakhnath Ji.
