 Mythological History:

A "Bhawan" whose beauty is so high that if any person enters this "Bhawan"  once, he gets the feeling of seeing Lord Rama and Mother Sita in person and becomes mesmerized. Whose glory is so much that just by entering this "Bhawan", all the sins and sufferings go away and all kinds of diseases and household defects also get eliminated? Which was presented by Mata Kekayi as a gift to Mata Sita in the ritual of showing her face after her marriage with Lord Shri Ram. In which Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita lived after marriage. Yes, we are talking about the famous building of Ayodhya, Lord Kanak, which is the largest and most religiously important place in Ayodhya.

It is believed that in Treta Yuga when Shri Ram broke the bow of Lord Shankar in the meeting of Maharaj Janak in Mithila, Mata Janaki put a garland around his neck as the condition of marriage. That night Lord Rama started thinking that Janak Nandini Vaidehi would now go to our Ayodhya. That's why there should be a very beautiful "Bhawan"  for her. It is said that the moment this desire arose in the mind of the Lord Rama, Queen Kaikeyi in Ayodhya saw the divine Kanak Bhawan with Saket Dham in her dream. Queen Kaikeyi expressed her desire to Maharaja Dasaratha to build a replica of the Kanaka Bhavan seen in her dream in Ayodhya. At the request of Dasharatha, architect Vishwakarma came to Ayodhya to build Kanak Bhawan. He built the very beautiful Kanak Bhavan. Mother Kaikeyi gave that building to her daughter-in-law Sita in person. After marriage, Ram-Sita started living in this building. Innumerable rare gems were studded in it.

About two thousand years ago, Emperor Vikramaditya renovated it and reinstated the couple idols of Sitaram there. The present temple was built by the Queen of Oraksha in 1891. Devotees coming to Ayodhya must visit Hanumangarhi, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi along with Kanak Bhawan. In the present time, in the reconstruction of Ayodhya Dham, temples like Lord Shri Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Dashrath Mahal, and holy places as well as Kanak Bhavan will be resurrected. It is believed that Lord Shri Ram resides with Mother Sita in this building even today. Kanak Bhawan is a gem-studded palace, its beauty is so magnificent that Kanak Bhawan is attractive not only from the inside but from the outside also.
