Hanuman Garhi Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is a revered site in Hinduism, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Perched atop a hill, this temple is an integral part of the religious landscape of Ayodhya, which is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. The significance of Hanuman Garhi is linked to the devotion to Lord Hanuman, the most important character of the epic Ramayana. Devotees believe that visiting this temple and worshiping Hanuman brings courage, strength, and divine protection. Lord Hanuman Ji is worshiped as a protective and guardian deity. An idol of Lord Hanuman is installed in Hanuman Garhi. In which Lord Hanuman is present in the form of Bal Hanuman. There is a crowd of devotees every day to have darshan of Hanuman ji. Especially Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered auspicious for worshiping Lord Hanuman. By worshiping Lord Hanuman, all the troubles of the devotees end and the fear of ghosts, devils, and enemies also ends. Hanuman Garhi Temple is a symbol of unwavering devotion to Lord Hanuman, providing a serene place for devotees to connect with the divine and draw inspiration from the immense devotion of Hanuman in the Hindu tradition.

 Mythological History:

After the victory of Lanka Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Chandra, Mata Sita, Lord Lakshman came to Ayodhya by Pushpak Viman, then along with Lord Shri Ram, Lord Hanuman also came to Ayodhya. Yes, this is a matter of Treta Yug when Lord Shri Ram became king in Ayodhya after spending 14 years of exile. For the devotion of Hanuman, Lord Ram provided him a suitable place in Ayodhya which today we all know as Hanuman ka Tila or Hanuman Garhi and worship. And gave him a boon that if any devotee who comes to Ayodhya for the darshan of Lord Ram for ages, first of all, he will have to see Lord Hanuman, without the darshan of Hanuman, the darshan of Lord Ram will be considered incomplete. Lord Hanuman's immense devotion and dedication towards Shri Ramachandra differentiates him from all the devotees. The complete knowledge about the power and glory of Lord Hanuman has been told in the 5th Sopan Sunderkand of Shri Ram Charit Manas. We get the facts about the glory of Hanuman from Hanuman Garhi only. Yes, this is about Kalyug i.e. the ongoing era.

In the present Hanuman Garhi, the walls of its four corners are built with 4 wells, and one well is left whose water is used to bathe Lord Hanuman even today. And with this water, the offering to Lord Hanuman is made. Hanuman Garhi is built in the form of a cave in which Hanuman is present in child form i.e. in the lap of Mata Anjani. This idol of Lord Hanuman ji is only 6 inches. To enter Hanuman Garhi, we have to climb 76 steps. In 1822, Hafizullah, a judicial officer of Faizabad, said that the mosque built by Babar was built on the Ramjanmabhoomi. He also said that this mosque was near Sita Rasoi. Thirty-three years later, a fierce battle took place at Hanuman Garhi. In 1855, the British Resident defeated the Nawab of Awadh. Wrote a letter to the British Resident asking him to stop the Jihadi attack on Hanuman Garhi. The British Resident wrote in the letter that Sunni Maulvi Ghulam Hussain was provoking Muslims by speaking from the mosque to attack the Ram Janmabhoomi. The Maulvi claims that there is a mosque inside Hanuman Garhi and the Muslims should capture it. The Nawab did not pay any attention to the repeated requests of the British Resident to send forces. Initially, a small skirmish took place and then after a few days in July Within a month, it turned into a bloody conflict. Ghulam Hussain along with a group of Jihadis attacked Hanuman Garhi, to which Hindu recluse Sadhus gave a strong response. Seventy Sunni Jihadis including Ghulam Hussain were killed in this attack.

In February 1857, Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah went to Faizabad to avenge the death of Ghulam Hussain. There he was arrested for giving an inflammatory speech in a mosque. In May, even before the revolution, orders were given to hang him. Suddenly When the rebellion broke out, he wore the clothes of jail doctor Najaf Ali and with the help of the doctor, captured the jail and became a revolutionary. His character was very similar to that of Mullah Masood Azhar. The Maulvi used to give talismans in jail. He called Maulvi Ghulam Hussain, who attacked Hanuman Garhi, as his pair. Ghulam Hussain was a disciple of Syed Ahmed Barelvi, who was involved in the attack on Balakot in 1826. Killed while destroying the first terrorist base by Sikh forces.

About 300 years ago, the Nawab of Lucknow was suffering from leprosy. Even the doctors from the country and abroad were not able to cure his disease. There was a minister in his Raj Sabha who was a Hindu. He told Nawab Sahib about two sadhus living in Ayodhya, but the Nawab was not ready to meet those sadhus. And his leprosy kept increasing, seeing which Nawab's wife resolved to go to Ayodhya. As soon as he went to Ayodhya and met the sadhus, he shared his agony, then Sadhu Maharaj picked up the ashes in front of Hanuman ji and burnt him in the name of Lord Hanuman ji, and here all the leprosy of the Nawab ended. Pleased with this, Nawab Saheb allowed Sadhu Maharaj to ask for the desired gift. Sadhu Maharaj told the Nawab about his desire to rebuild Hanuman Garhi. Today, our present Hanuman Garhi was built by the Nawab of Lucknow.
